IBEX was founded by a team of internationally recognized faculty members from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, the University of Illinois and North Carolina State University. IBEX makes learning about nature an enjoyable and friendly hands-on experience. Participants gain unique scientific and cultural experiences and travel to off the beaten path locations. Each IBEX Tour is much more than a site visit; it is an expedition of discovery, adventure, and learning. All funds generated by IBEX are invested in host countries and are used to support high-impact conservation and bioexploration projects at local universities through the Global Institute for BioExploration (GIBEX).
